Antigen Preparation
A synthetic peptide corresponding to N-terminus of human NKX3.1
Background
"The Nkx3.1 gene encodes an androgen regulated prostate-specific homeobox-containing transcription factor. This transcription factor functions as a negative regulator of epithelial cell growth in prostate tissue. In mice the homologue Nkx3.1 is exclusively expressed in prostate epithelium. In humans, Nkx3.1 expression is also restricted to the prostate. Many data show that Nkx3.1 expression is highly, but not exclusively, specific for the prostate. Aberrant expression of this gene is associated with prostate tumor progression."
