Antigen Preparation
A synthetic peptide of human F4/80
Background
"F4/80 is a 160 kD glycoprotein. The BM8 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse F4/80 antigen. It contains seven EGF-like domains on its extracellular N-terminus, seven transmembrane spanning sequences, and an intracellular C-terminal domain. F4/80 belongs to the EGF-TM7 family of proteins and is used as a murine macrophage marker. The macrophage F4/80 receptor is required for the induction of antigen-specific efferent regulatory T cells in peripheral tolerance."
