Antigen Preparation
A chmically conjugated Digoxigenin
Background
"Digoxigenin is derived from a plant steroid hormone digoxin found in the plants Digitalis sp. Digoxigenin is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity. Anti-digoxigenin antibodies are used in a variety of biological immuno-assays. The antibodies may be labeled with dyes, enzymes or fluorescence, Digoxigenin has been also used successfully in labeling nucleic acids."
