Antigen Preparation
Enriched cell membrane of human PBMC
Background
"CD45 leucocyte common antigen (LCA) belongs to the family of membrane glycoproteins expressed on hematopoietic cell lines but absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines, normal and malignant non-hematopoietic tissues. This protein is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. CD45 can exist in at least nine different isoforms resulting from tissue-specific alternative RNA splicing of exons 4-7 of a single gene coding for the various N-terminal peptide segments. CD45RO, splice variant of CD45, is the shortest CD45 isoform, which lacks all three of the A, B, and C regions. It is a 180 kD single chain membrane glycoprotein. Activated and memory T lymphocytes express CD45RO. CD45RO+ memory tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes show major prognostic impact in various malignancies"
