Antigen Preparation
A recombinant protein of human CD26
Background
"CD26, also called DPP4 (dipeptidyl peptidase 4), is identical to adenosine deaminase complexing protein-2, and to the T-cell activation antigen CD26. It is 110 kD intrinsic type II transmembrane glycoprotein and a serine exopeptidase that cleaves X-proline dipeptides from the N-terminus of polypeptides. Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 is highly involved in glucose and insulin metabolism, as well as in immune regulation. CD26, plays a core role of T cell immunity. CD26 is expressed on the membrane of mature thymocytes, T lymphocytes, macrophages, B cells, NK cells. This protein was shown to be a functional receptor for Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV. CD26 also associates with 43-kilodalton protein adenosine deaminase (ADA). There is longstanding evidence that various primary tumors and also metastases express CD26/DPP4 to a variable extent."
