Antigen Preparation
A recombinant protein of human CD24
Background
CD24 is a sialoglycoprotein that is expressed on mature granulocytes and B cells and modulates growth and differentiation signals to these cells. The precursor protein is cleaved to a short 32 amino acid mature peptide which is anchored via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) link to the cell surface. CD24 is a cell adhesion molecule. The protein also contributes to a wide range of downstream signaling networks and is crucial for neural development. CD24 is an important mediator of ovulation and that it may also be used for therapeutic target of ovulatory disorders.
