Antigen Preparation
A recombinant protein of full length human Aurora A kinase.
Background
"The Aurora family kinases are pivotal to the successful execution of cell division. Together they ensure the formation of a bipolar mitotic spindle, accurate segregation of chromosomes and the completion of cytokinesis. Aurora-A serine/threonine kinases are a a family of mitotic kinases that localize to centrosomes. Aurora-A kinases have been implicated in centrosome separation and spindle assembly. Aurora-A is amplified frequently in human malignancies, and its overexpression can transform cells. They are also attractive drug targets, being frequently deregulated in cancer. The activity of aurora-A kinase peaks during the G2/M transition, making it an attractive candidate for regulating centrosome maturation."
